Statistics show that kids spend more time on their electronic devices rather than with their family This was how "Kids n' Crafts" came to be. The main goal we had was to get children to spend quality time with their parents through fun activities at the library every Saturday morning.
Although we only spent about 2-3 hours with the kids and parents, I do believe we made a difference in their lives. When we were nearing our last day, I realized that the parents spent more time with their kids with the activities rather than using their phones. That was exactly our goal, and we accomplished it.
My group and I are definitely going back during the summer (we already filled in forms). This time around I'd definitely want to read more to the kids, not just once every other week. Something I'd keep the same would be the physical activities we did after read aloud because those got the kids to calm down and not just run to every table they see.
As I continue to grow, I hope to prevent more children from excessively using their electronic devices. I hope to let them see that there many other fun activities they can do to keep from boredom.

Good job! I believe that not only kids but all of us spend too much time on our electronic devices. Your project aimed to lessen that. Very creative indeed.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed doing this project with you! We did great and I'll see you back there in the summer! Hooray for us! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad our project was successful! It's great to know what we've made a positive impact on these families. Good job to us! Hope to see you volunteer during the summer! :) <3
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing project! Kids should spend time away from their electronic devices and having them do fun crafts and activities is a great idea. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou're right! Most kids learn how to use ipads before learning how to interact with other people. This is a great way to repair bonds between children and their parents.
ReplyDeleteKids really need to interact more not only with other people, but also with their family. Good job Rose!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! I believe you guys made a great difference in the lives of these people.
ReplyDeleteAmazing job, sis!
ReplyDeleteI really love how you guys specifically focus your attention to this issue and I agree that kids should spend more time off their device.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I believe that kids should be able to do activities like this more than being on their electronics all day!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really thoughtful idea for many children and their families. With the recent blow up of child-friendly technology, it is quite hard for parents and children to interact without that technology. Your project shows a lot of fun activities and experiences that families can enjoy, which is what made (and will make) you so successful. Overall, you and your group did a great job!
ReplyDeleteYou accomplished your goal wonderfully, and I think it's amazing that you and your partners are willing to continue with this over the summer too!
ReplyDeletePerfect example of one who successfully pulled off their MAD project while having fun as well. Good to see you enjoyed what you did! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGood job!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome project!
ReplyDeleteWork like this makes such a huge difference to so many!
ReplyDeletethis is such a cool concept, its so beautiful to see the joy on kids faces when they do other art craft activities or other activities just shows that its not just about the technology these days
ReplyDeleteGood job! This sounds like an amazing project and it sounded like you were really engaged and enjoyed what you did.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I'm glad that yall are continuing throughout the summer because the feedback sounds so amazing! Always do what you're doing because that's what making a difference is!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a powerful initiative!! I'm so happy people are making a difference in reducing the amount of time the younger generation spends on electronics. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful idea! Kids shouldn't be excessively using their electronic devices but instead do more fun and engaging activities. They should do things such as spend time with their families and create closer bonds like how this activity has helped. Splendid and a job well done.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as someone who was brought up without that much use of electronic devices but now spends a little too much time on her phone, I love what you're doing here and that you made a difference in not just the kids' but the parents' attitudes towards crafts and social interaction! Well done and keep it up!
ReplyDeleteReading to kids and participating actively in their lives is such a great thing for you to do. Im happy you felt good about it and are going to do it again.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an awesome project. It's great to see how something so simple can still be effective. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteReally good job!
ReplyDeleteI really love your Project! It's creative and inspiring how you and your group decided to reach out to the youth and try to get them to spend more time with their parents instead of being on their phones, tablets etc. Great job and I'm glad you had fun along the way!
ReplyDeleteI like your project and i think it's a great idea, helping kids spending more time with people instead of spending it on their phones. I don't know if you know it but human interaction is what makes us happy so it's awesome and it can only benefit them. I enjoyed reading about your project and you should try to do more like that.
ReplyDeleteGOOD JOB! I really like the idea of your project! keep the good work !!
ReplyDeleteWell done! This is a very proactive and effective idea :)
ReplyDeleteHow creative!! Love the way you thought about this project.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a brilliant idea! I completely agree with your viewpoints and think it's awesome you're putting your words into action. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThis is really amazing! As helpful as the advancement of technology is, it still has its drawbacks. The best thing about this project is that the parent and the child get to reconnect with each other without the hindrance of their gadgets. It's a great way to reestablish relationships and bonds. Good job!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are really making a great difference! This is one of the things people should look up to. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! So great that you got the result you wanted as well!
ReplyDeleteI agree how kids these days spend more time on their electronics. I really like your project since this is a great project for kids to spend time on other activities.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was taught origami at this age, but also nice job on this,I've seen toddlers play Call of Duty better than me and I feel quite disturbed by it. Also, origami is pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis project is great! It will definitely benefit the kids in the long run. I'm glad you made this!
ReplyDeleteA benificial project for a great cause. Amazingly done!
ReplyDeleteI actually just debated on this subject a few days ago and the fact that people are taking actions to increase family bonding is amazing! Great job Rose!
